3D DESIGN & PROTOTYPING
Walt Disney coined the phrase “Imagineering” and perhaps this best describes Spatial’s quest for new technologies and more creative ways of manufacturing. A 3D laser scanning and reverse engineering service is now available and following the installation of a 5 Axis CNC Router complex 3D shapes and patterns can be machined to aerospace tolerances. This service opens up new possibilities for designers where complex digitally designed architectural elements, curved shapes, spheres or high precision 3D machining is required.
5 AXIS CNC MACHINING
Spatial offers 5 Axis CNC machining with a working envelope of 3m x 1.5m x 1.2m high.
3D CAD /CAM design and modelling service available or submit your own ‘ready to machine’ files in Nurbs surfaces (IGS, STEP, SAT, 3DM) or solids (e.g. Solidworks) format. CNC machining capability is available as a stand-alone prototyping service or we can take the project to mould-making and parts production.
Spatial uses the advanced Gen2 control system, which was specially designed for NASA aerospace and defence applications, offering full five-axis simultaneous motion capability. The system enables us to machine any 3D object with pinpoint accuracy to whatever scale is required ranging from a miniature hat rack hinge to a 100-metre aircraft fuselage prototype.
